A digital experience for Valentine’s day to celebrate the launch of Disney’s new short film, Blank, on Google Play.
The site allowed users to select a still from the film and dedicate it to someone special for Valentine's day. Each recipient recieved a personalised video featuring the characters from the film. 5000 printed cards were created in the first 24 hours, and over 95,000 digital cards were sent out during the campaign.
As part of the front end development team my role was to make the site responsive and create the animations.
The project was featured on the Google.com homepage, Blank became the most downloaded movie on Google Play and the site won FWA mobile site of the day.
An online learning platform created by Google to help improve the digital skills of small to medium sized businesses.
It offers free tutorials on topics of the user's choice or plans that are specifically tailored to the each business's needs. On completion of the online course user's gain a certification from Google and IAB Europe.
I worked as Lead frontend developer on this project for six months and our team implemented a new set of interactive quizzes to accompany the current teaching materials.
It was a great opportunity to enhance my knowledge of Angular JS, Material Design guidelines and Accessibility standards.
The website has currently launched in 27 European markets and is available in 23 languages to date. So far over 1 million users have created an account and over 6 million lessons have been completed.
A new build of +rehabstudio's website following their rebrand in 2014.
Leading the Front-end Development team it was my role to implement the projects core architecture, write technical and functional specifications, plan sprint deliverables and delegate tasks to the team. It also allowed me to be more involved with the UX and creative teams in the earlier stages of planning and protoyping to provide a technical insight.
One key focus was enhancing performance, to achieve this we took the time to properly research, analyse and implement different optimization techniques such as the critical rendering path and reducing site load times.
This meant we were able to deliver a web application that not only reflected the new branding and showcased the agencies work elegantly but also was fully responsive and highly performant on across all devices.
